About The Position

To trouble shoot, repair, replace or otherwise improve air conditioning, heating and ventilating systems throughout the hospital.

Follows proper procedures in evacuating and charging refrigerator systems.
Repairs compressors, motors, ascertains trough troubleshooting air conditioning/refrigeration problems, detects and repairs leaks.
Has a good technical background in controls and other related electrical problem concerning A/C units.
Utilizes equipment safely.
Completes work assignments thoroughly and in a timely manner.
Notifies supervisor of A/C refrigeration supplies needed to keep jobs going without interruption.
Maintains current fire safety card.
Completes annual Inservice
Attends meetings and participates in departmental in-services.
Supervises and coordinates adjustment of controls, changing of belts, filters, conducts rounds, services room units, H.V.A.C. and split system units, ice machines, refrigerators, trouble shooting, installation of equipment, ordering, restocking supplies.
Performs one or more skilled tasks such as plumbing, electrical, welding, H.V.A.C. mechanic.
Constructs and reconstructs equipment, attachments and physical structures.
May assist in other areas of the Engineering Department such as mason work, painting, electric, etc.
Performs related Preventive Maintenance work, inspections, and project or construction work.
Works overtime when hospital emergencies occur.
Performs all other duties as required.
