They strive for best-in-class performance while upholding core values and ethical business practices. The team is seeking an experienced mechanic for a full-time opportunity. As a mechanic, your role is crucial in ensuring the organization can keep communities safe and clean by performing maintenance and repairs on trucks and trailers in accordance with industry standards. This involves running diagnostics, collaborating with team members to meet company goals, and performing general inspections and preventative maintenance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience, preferably in diesel mechanics.
  • Must possess mechanical tools.
  • Must have a valid Class B driver’s license (Class A is a plus).
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Ability to work weekend rotations.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including Respiratory Protection.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces when needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, employees, and managers.
  • Effective conflict resolution abilities.
  • Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
  • Ability to read, write, and do mathematics.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and understanding of ABS systems, suspension, steering, leaks, wheel alignment and balancing, and electrical systems.
  • TWIC card preferred.
  • ASE Diesel Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general inspection of vehicles, trailers, and equipment.
  • Run and analyze diagnostic testing.
  • Perform minor and major repairs on trucks and trailers.
  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance on service trucks, including inspections, tire rotations, and oil changes.
  • Inspect and replace bearings, lights, brakes, and coolant.
  • Maintain parts inventory and request purchase orders for necessary parts and items.
  • Collaborate with the team in diagnosing vehicle problems and planning repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of all repairs performed on vehicles.
  • Coordinate with external repair shops.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
