About The Position
The Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on police vehicles and related equipment to ensure the department’s fleet remains safe, reliable, and mission-ready.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license is required.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an automotive or fleet mechanic preferred.
Responsibilities
- Performs maintenance on police vehicles, including oil changes, lubrication, tire rotations, and field operations.
- Diagnoses and repairs vehicles using computerized diagnostics.
- Maintains accurate maintenance, repair, and inspection records for all vehicles.
- Repairs and replaces engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, electrical systems, HVAC systems, and exhaust systems.
- Orders and maintains inventory of parts, tools, fluids, and shop supplies.
- Performs all other assigned duties.
