About The Position

Associated Wholesale Grocers, Inc. This position will be 3rd shift.

Requirements

Certified in brake repair.
2 years Diesel Mechanic experience.
Thorough knowledge of machines and tools for making repairs and regular maintenance on equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot.
Reading comprehension of work-related documents.
Strong service perspective in relation to meeting customer expectations.
Effectively applies technical knowledge to solve a range of problems.
Excellent time management, situational management, attention to detail and immediate follow through.
Must provide own tools including impact wrenches up to 1/2’ drive.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds numerous times and up to 100 pounds on occasion.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance on tires, including mounting and dismounting.
Conduct brake jobs, bearing, and stud replacement.
Perform trailer maintenance, including brakes, ABS, doors, and minor body repairs.
Perform tractor maintenance, including brakes, services, minor engine work, and diagnostics.
Service and repair brakes.
Service and repair rear ends.
Repair engines, run diagnostic tests, identify problem sources, and replace faulty parts.
Check water-cooling systems or clean air and oil filters to prevent engine part breakdowns.
Promote a safe work environment ensuring adherence to OSHA and company safety policies.
Consider accident prevention an inseparable part of everyday operations.
Set safety goals annually as part of the career/personal development plan and develop action plans to achieve them.
