About The Position

This role is for a Plant Maintenance Mechanic I within the Aggregates line of business at Heidelberg Materials. Heidelberg Materials is a global leader in building materials, operating over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. The Plant Maintenance Mechanic I will perform mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on plant equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations. This includes conducting inspections and preventive maintenance, installing and adjusting mechanical components, and collaborating with the team to complete tasks efficiently and safely. Accurate record-keeping of work performed, parts used, and equipment status is also a key part of the role.

Requirements

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
• Capability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
• Commitment to working safely and following established procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and apply new skills to support plant operations.
• Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on plant equipment to support safe and reliable operations.
• Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance to identify issues and maintain equipment performance.
• Install, align, and adjust mechanical components to ensure optimal functionality.
• Collaborate with team members to complete maintenance tasks efficiently and safely.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and equipment status.
