About The Position

Zolman’s Best One Tire & Auto Care is seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Repair Technician / Mechanic for their location in South Bend, Indiana. This locally owned and operated company has been servicing automotive, light truck, and commercial repair, tire, and wheel needs since 1978. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance, with a focus on automotive repair, and values safety and teamwork. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring they are safe and reliable for customers. The required hours are 8 am - 5 pm, Monday-Friday, with a willingness to work overtime as needed. Enthusiastic, reliable individuals with a positive attitude are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

High school graduate or general education degree (GED)
2-4 years’ experience as a mechanic in the tire and service industry.
Strong knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Valid driver’s license; driving record must meet company’s insurance requirements
Knowledge of diagnostic and repair equipment

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using diagnostic scan tools and other equipment.
Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify potential problems and recommend necessary repairs.
Replace suspension parts and able to perform alignments.
Maintain accurate records of all services performed and parts used.
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance to Service Advisors, management, and customers if needed in a clear and understandable manner.
Ensure a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety standards and protocols.
Read ticket and perform work listed; write confirmation and recommendation.
