About The Position

This role is responsible for performing advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production line equipment. The mechanic will execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs, install and commission new equipment, and diagnose various system issues. They will also support production changeovers, read technical documentation, perform minor fabrication, troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems, respond to emergency breakdowns, and maintain accurate logs. Collaboration with production, quality, and engineering teams is essential to drive continuous improvement and ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2 - 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance within manufacturing (aerosol, liquid filling, or similar environment preferred).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of motors, drives, conveyors, pumps, and filling equipment.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting skills including motors, sensors, and control circuits.
  • Experience with PLC systems (troubleshooting and basic diagnostics).
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance systems (CMMS preferred).
  • Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Basic machining and fabrication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime, weekends, and emergency call-ins as needed.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

  • technical certification or vocational training in maintenance, electrical, or mechanical disciplines preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production line equipment including fillers, conveyors, labelers, motors, and auxiliary systems.
  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Install, align, and commission new equipment, including participation in plant expansions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues and implement timely corrective actions.
  • Support production changeovers, line setups, and adjustments to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to support repairs and modifications.
  • Perform minor fabrication and machining of parts as needed using shop equipment.
  • Troubleshoot basic PLC-controlled systems and interface with controls technicians as needed.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns, including equipment shutdown, safety assessment, and controlled restart of operations.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and compliance documentation.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
