About The Position

The Black Thunder Mine is seeking a Mechanic to perform maintenance and repairs on mobile mining equipment. This role also involves maintaining the fuel station and lube truck, performing welding, operating the lube truck, and completing daily reports. The mechanic may also be assigned to other maintenance groups and participate in the SABERS program. The position requires a strong work ethic, ability to work with minimal supervision, excellent communication and teamwork skills, and willingness to work in adverse conditions with consistent attendance.

Requirements

• Must have a work ethic that allows him/her to demonstrate his/her ability daily with minimal supervision.
• Must have excellent interpersonal/communication skills and an ability to work with others in a team environment.
• Must be willing to work in adverse conditions including, but not limited to, extreme heat, cold, dust, rain, snow and wind, as well as frequent contact with grease and dirt.
• Must demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance.

Nice To Haves

• Three years relevant experience, completion of applicable technical school training in mobile equipment, maintenance, repairs and welding or a combination of experience and training.
• Valid Driver’s License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform all assigned maintenance and repairs on mobile mining equipment.
• Clean and make minor repairs to maintain fuel station and lube truck.
• Perform welding, as assigned.
• Operate lube truck.
• Properly complete daily reports.
• May be assigned to other maintenance groups to repair and maintain other equipment.
• Participation in SABERS program.
• All other duties as assigned.
