About The Position

This role is responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on mobile mining equipment at the Black Thunder Mine. The position requires a strong work ethic, the ability to work with minimal supervision, excellent communication and teamwork skills, and a willingness to work in adverse conditions. The mechanic will also be responsible for maintaining the fuel station and lube truck, performing welding, operating the lube truck, completing daily reports, and potentially assisting other maintenance groups. Participation in the SABERS program and other assigned duties are also part of the role.

Requirements

• Must have excellent interpersonal/communication skills and an ability to work with others in a team environment.
• Must be willing to work in adverse conditions including, but not limited to, extreme heat, cold, dust, rain, snow and wind, as well as frequent contact with grease and dirt.
• Must demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance.

Nice To Haves

• Three years relevant experience, completion of applicable technical school training in mobile equipment, maintenance, repairs and welding or a combination of experience and training.
• Valid Driver’s License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform all assigned maintenance and repairs on mobile mining equipment.
• Clean and make minor repairs to maintain fuel station and lube truck.
• Perform welding, as assigned.
• Operate lube truck.
• Properly complete daily reports.
• May be assigned to other maintenance groups to repair and maintain other equipment.
• Participation in SABERS program.
• All other duties as assigned.
