About The Position

Rogers Group is currently seeking a candidate to fill a MECHANIC position for the Ready-Mix Division in Dayton, TN. This position will perform repairs, routine maintenance, and inspections on a wide variety of Ready-Mix related equipment and vehicles. The applicant must have a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair a wide range of service issues that affect major components such as engines, brake systems, transmissions, torque converters, hydraulic systems, drive train components, heating/cooling and electrical systems, as well as other systems generally encountered in the industry.

Requirements

  • Uncompromising focus on safety excellence and able to perform all duties under DOT regulations & company safety policies and practices.
  • Minimum of three years of experience working on Ready-Mix type equipment and on-road trucks.
  • Heavy equipment parts familiarization including parts catalogs, procurement, handling, storage, and cost of heavy equipment parts.
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment.
  • Ability to stoop, push, kneel, twist and lift 70lbs.
  • Ability to climb and perform work on heights of 20 feet.
  • Able to work in all kinds of weather conditions.
  • A valid DOT Medical Card is required.

Nice To Haves

  • CDL or DOT Medical Card holder preferred.
  • Experience performing DOT Annual Inspections preferred.
  • A valid Class B CDL is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs, routine maintenance, and inspections on a wide variety of Ready-Mix related equipment and vehicles.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair a wide range of service issues that affect major components such as engines, brake systems, transmissions, torque converters, hydraulic systems, drive train components, heating/cooling and electrical systems, as well as other systems generally encountered in the industry.
  • Inspect machines for abnormalities or defects.
  • Perform routine scheduled maintenance on equipment and trucks.
  • Perform “on-site” and “in-field” maintenance and repairs on equipment, when needed.
  • Complete maintenance and work order repair records.
  • Weld and fabricate, as needed.
  • Perform housekeeping duties and work area checks.
  • Operate mobile equipment.
  • Operate a company vehicle on public highways and job sites.
  • Develop working relationships with other employees and vendors.
