About The Position

Dejana Truck & Utility is a division of Douglas Dynamics, North America’s premier manufacturer and up-fitter of work truck attachments and equipment. As a Welder you will fabricate, repair, maintain and install steel items and equipment, etc. according to quality standards. Under the general supervision of the Production Manager, you will accomplish this by effectively operating a MIG welding unit and equipment, identifying hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair to ensure compliance with applicable codes, law, working practices and health and safety, inspecting work and filling/repairing as necessary, assembling component parts using appropriate hand/small power tools, and cleaning and maintaining all equipment and tools and maintaining a clean working area.

Requirements

  • Basic MIG welding experience.
  • Your own tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to understand plans and requirements for each task.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Must be able to safely use hand tools and power tools and perform work requiring good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and move around the production area for extended periods of time.
  • Good vision and hearing are required to safely perform work and communicate with coworkers.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working on trucks a plus.
  • Three-year related experience (preferred but not mandatory) in a manufacturing environment or technical school.
  • Truck fitting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities
