About The Position

This position is responsible for ensuring the safe working condition of all Roberts’ vehicles by performing minimal supervised repairs and maintenance of all company vehicles.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum of two (2) years work related experience as a mechanic helper; and or training (e.g. technical / trade school preferred); or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Able to calculate basic math
• Able to speak, read, write English
• Minimum two (2) ASE certificates (e.g. Brakes, Suspension & Steering, Engines, Power-train (drive-line), Air Conditioning, Transmission, Engine Diagnosis, etc.) or Hawaii State Mechanic License
• Must have minimum Type 3 License with a current valid Hawaii Driver History Record.
• Must own basic hand-tools (e.g. sockets, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, hammer, etc.)
• Must be able to work flexible days / hours – weekends, nights, holiday
• Operational knowledge of basic hand tools required
• Operational knowledge of basic shop equipment (e.g. vise, press, floor jacks, etc.) required
• Must be able to work flexible days / hours – weekends, nights, holidays

Responsibilities

• Assist 1st class mechanics with repairs
• Trains (supervises) underclass technician (i.e., mechanic helper)
• Performs diagnosis and corrective action of reported mechanical discrepancies within ability
• Performs routine repairs and preventative maintenance
• Generates written work orders on a daily basis to account for task(s) accomplishment(s) work performed
• Performs general house-keeping of shop area
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
