Mechanic Maintenance Forest, MS
About The Position
This position is responsible for maintenance and preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Applicants will be considered for any Truck Shop Mechanic opening. This position requires a current valid State driver’s license. Must supply own tools for minimum maintenance. Must be able to use basic electrical, pneumatic and hand tools. Minimum 1 year basic mechanical or maintenance skills including PM on equipment, oil changes, greasing, repairing or replacing semi tires, brake repair or replacement on semi - trucks and trailers, and minimum 1 year experience operating cutting torch and electric welder. May perform air brake, electrical and air conditioning work. Must have ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders up to 20 feet, bend, stretch, reach, work in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors. Must be able to read and understand assignments. Must be able to communicate both orally and in writing. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Requirements
- Current valid State driver’s license
- Supply own tools for minimum maintenance
- Ability to use basic electrical, pneumatic and hand tools
- Minimum 1 year basic mechanical or maintenance skills including PM on equipment, oil changes, greasing, repairing or replacing semi tires, brake repair or replacement on semi - trucks and trailers
- Minimum 1 year experience operating cutting torch and electric welder
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders up to 20 feet
- Ability to bend, stretch, reach
- Ability to work in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors
- Ability to read and understand assignments
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing
- Six (6) months operator experience with one employer in the previous 12 - months
- Three to five years related experience with at least three years in an industrial setting/relevant work experience
- Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

- Technical or Vocational Diploma preferred, or combination of equivalent experience and education in a related field in lieu of a Diploma
