About The Position

We are seeking a Mechanic Intern to join our Equipment team. In this role, you will gain invaluable real-world experience working alongside experienced mechanics and technicians, learning to diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers. This program is designed to provide students with hands-on exposure to equipment maintenance operations, helping you build a strong technical foundation for a future career in the construction and equipment industry.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a relevant degree or technical program (Diesel/Heavy Equipment Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Construction Management, or related field), or high school diploma/equivalent with strong interest in the field.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to a fast-paced, hands-on setting.
  • Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude.
  • Comfortable working in outdoor/field and shop environments.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Assist mechanics with routine maintenance and repair work on company equipment, including heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers.
  • Observe and participate in diagnosing equipment issues, learning to identify problems and develop solutions under the guidance of experienced staff.
  • Help perform preventative maintenance tasks to support optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Assist in maintaining equipment-related reports, maintenance logs, and metrics.
  • Learn and follow safety procedures and regulatory requirements related to equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Work closely with mechanics, equipment managers, and field staff to support equipment division goals.
  • Participate in identifying opportunities to improve maintenance and repair processes.
