About The Position

The Mechanic III - Maintenance role provides senior technical expertise and leadership within the Maintenance job family. The work includes advanced troubleshooting, complex repairs, welding and fabrication, crane maintenance, and mentoring junior mechanics. The Mechanic Lead additionally manages team performance and training programs. The employer is Gulf Stream Marine, Inc., an Enstructure company.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 3–5 years of experience in crane or heavy equipment maintenance.
Advanced knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, PLC programming, and diagnostics.
Ability to read and interpret schematics, service manuals, and technical drawings.
Familiarity with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company insurability standards.
TWIC card required or ability to obtain one.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Nice To Haves

Technical certification.

Responsibilities

Fuel equipment, perform inspections and preventive maintenance, and complete minor repairs.
Perform complex mechanical repairs involving hydraulic and pneumatic systems, brakes, hubs, and drive and steering assemblies.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, electronic, PLC, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Use diagnostic tools and software, including Cummins, Volvo, and PLC systems.
Program and troubleshoot PLCs, and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics for complex repairs.
Diagnose root causes and recommend system improvements.
Restore equipment to OEM specifications and operational standards.
For the Mechanic Lead role, run training classes and lead mechanics in executing repairs.
Mentor junior mechanics and provide technical guidance.
For the Mechanic Lead role, assign work orders and monitor progress for quality and efficiency.
Communicate equipment status effectively to dispatch and operations teams.
