About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic III provides a safe and comfortable environment for patients, visitors, and staff by maintaining equipment, buildings, and grounds in good operating condition. The role completes and documents work orders accurately and follows up as needed. The position works the first shift, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with on-call duty every eight weeks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or higher.
• Three years of experience in Maintenance Services or a related area.
• Successful completion of an additional two-year trade or vocational school program; two additional years of experience may substitute for the required trade school.

Nice To Haves

• Universal Refrigerant Recovery license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate appropriately with staff of varied skill levels and expertise.
• Complete departmental work orders in a timely manner and document them properly.
• Inspect each mechanical room daily to check equipment performance.
• Inspect and test emergency generators weekly and document results.
• Perform preventive maintenance procedures properly.
• Initiate repairs for equipment found to be defective or not meeting specifications.
• Inspect firefighting equipment and document results.
• Perform duties related to new construction and renovation projects, coordinating with affected departments and personnel.
• Participate in disaster and emergency drills as required and respond to emergencies throughout the hospital.
