About The Position
The Mechanic II is responsible for repairing and maintaining company gas vehicles, diesel tractor trailers, and lift trucks in compliance with OSHA and DOT regulations. The role is part of Bi-Mart’s logistics team, which supports the movement of merchandise from the distribution center to stores throughout Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. Work hours may vary depending on workload and assignment.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a mechanic is required.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs.
- Troubleshoot and repair brakes, air systems, electrical systems, suspension, air conditioning, and other vehicle systems.
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines and transmissions.
- Work independently.
- Communicate and coordinate with outside vendors, the traffic department, and others to ensure repairs and maintenance are completed correctly and on time.
- Prepare repair orders and inspection forms.
- Assist with other duties and functions as directed by management.
