About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic II performs intermediate-level mechanical maintenance and repair tasks to support safe and reliable operation of manufacturing equipment. This role requires hands-on technical skills, the ability to work with minimal supervision on routine repairs, and a solid understanding of conveyor systems, chain drives, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical troubleshooting. The Mechanic II serves as a skilled contributor within the maintenance team and provides support to both production operations and less experienced mechanics.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in conveyor system installation, tracking, and repair.
  • Working knowledge of chain drives and specialty mechanical applications.
  • Practical understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic system components and functions.
  • Intermediate fabrication, machining, and welding capabilities.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments.
  • Solid grounding in preventive maintenance and lubrication best practices.

Nice To Haves

  • 2–4 years of industrial or mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, conveyor systems, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS software.
  • Welding and fabrication experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install, align, and maintain conveyor belt systems, including V-belts, timing belts, and modular belts, with limited supervision.
  • Maintain and repair chain drive systems, tensioners, and lubrication systems to ensure proper equipment performance.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and replace worn or failing mechanical components.
  • Perform intermediate fabrication and mechanical work, including drilling, tapping, mounting, and basic welding.
  • Assist with the installation, repair, and adjustment of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including cylinders, valves, regulators, and flow controls.
  • Execute preventive maintenance tasks and mechanical inspections in support of reliability initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical failures using systematic problem-solving and root cause analysis.
  • Read and interpret mechanical schematics, equipment drawings, and technical manuals to support repair activities.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and support rapid restoration of operations.
  • Provide guidance and hands-on support to Maintenance Mechanic I employees as needed.
