About The Position

This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position for a Mechanic II in the DPW – Sewer Division, open only to current members of the Town of Bridgewater AFSCME union. The pay range is $31.3171 to $42.0966 per hour. The role involves performing preventative and corrective maintenance on all plant equipment, consulting on the maintenance program, inspecting equipment for malfunctions, and maintaining electrical equipment. The position also requires familiarity with safety equipment and a willingness to be involved in plant operations and collection systems. Emergency overtime may be required.

Requirements

• Ability and knowledge in maintenance of mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, buildings, structures and grounds
• Knowledge of processes and equipment involved in Wastewater Treatment, compost operation, sewer system and pump stations
• High School or Trade School education or equivalent training or experience

Responsibilities

• Performs all preventative and corrective maintenance on all plant equipment.
• Consults Assistant Superintendent regarding preventative maintenance program.
• Inspect plant and mechanical equipment for malfunctions and needed repairs.
• Shall be capable of using and maintaining all tools and equipment used in the Department.
• Shall be familiar with all safety equipment used in the Department.
• Is required to keep all electrical equipment such as motors, generators, motor starters, etc. in operating conditions.
• Willingness to fill in and be involved with plant operations and collection systems.
