About The Position

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Utility team, you will develop and evolve the ranking logic that decides which jobs jobseekers see and in what order, balancing relevance for jobseekers with the value each result delivers to employers and to Indeed. You'll work closely with data scientists to turn optimization ideas into production ranking behavior on Indeed's highest-traffic job surfaces, and with product managers and surface owners to deliver the outcomes their products depend on. In this role, you'll take ownership over significant parts of the ranking system end to end, improving what exists today, prototyping next-generation capabilities, and simplifying ranking and measurement logic so it stays maintainable as it grows. You'll drive technical design discussions on the team and use a variety of experimentation strategies and analysis tools to confirm that a change moves the business in the right direction without regressing latency or reliability.
