About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production and utility equipment within a food-grade manufacturing environment. This role maintains equipment integrity through disciplined maintenance practices, technical proficiency, and strict adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The position directly supports operational continuity by proactively addressing equipment issues and partnering with Operations, Quality, and Engineering to sustain optimal production performance.

Requirements

  • 2+ years Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or comparable technical environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with exposure to electrical and control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency with CMMS platforms (SAP preferred).
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to safe work practices.
  • Flexibility to support plant needs, including overtime and call-ins.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical diploma, certification, or apprenticeship in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Experience in food, chemical, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with predictive maintenance tools and reliability-centered maintenance concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance to support long-term equipment reliability.
  • Conduct inspections, diagnose mechanical/electrical issues, and implement sustainable solutions that prevent recurrence.
  • Restore equipment to service safely, ensuring full compliance with operational, safety, and food-quality requirements.
  • Rigorously follow all site safety protocols, GMPs, HACCP guidelines, sanitation standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify, report, and address hazards promptly while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Accurately document all maintenance activities in SAP or the site’s CMMS, including parts usage and follow-up actions.
  • Provide clear technical observations to support equipment history, reliability analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner effectively with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and fellow maintenance personnel to resolve equipment issues.
  • Communicate equipment status, risks, and maintenance needs in a timely and professional manner.
  • Contribute to root-cause investigations and improvement projects that enhance equipment performance and reliability.
  • Maintain and advance technical skills across mechanical systems, electrical fundamentals, control systems, and plant utilities.
  • Participate in required training, skill-progression programs, and professional development.
