About The Position
Canteen is hiring a full-time Mechanic I in Beltsville, Maryland. The role operates and maintains equipment, including HVAC systems, high-pressure boilers, generators, and steam equipment. The mechanic reads and records meter and gauge information at specified intervals to verify operating conditions and responds to customer machine-repair needs using a company vehicle. The employer is willing to train.
Requirements
- Type I Refrigeration Certification.
- Valid non-CDL Class C driver's license.
Responsibilities
- Provide detailed, one-on-one customer service.
- Respond to dispatch calls for machine repairs using a company vehicle.
- Visit existing customers to assess service adequacy, listen to complaints, and resolve service issues.
- Visually inspect and listen to machines to identify malfunctions, and dismantle machines to access problem areas.
- Inspect parts for wear, misalignment, and other problems; replace defective or worn parts, repair broken parts, and realign or adjust components.
- Test machine operation after repairs.
- Review inventory, order parts, ship and receive machines and equipment, and maintain equipment inventory.
- Set up and operate mechanical equipment and small hand tools for repairs.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and perform work safely.
- Support the department by striving for excellence and contribute to the team with professionalism.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
