About The Position

The Mechanic I is responsible for performing a variety of preventative and general maintenance and repair on plant and facility equipment and machines. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing machines and equipment in plants and related facilities. The position also includes performing preventative maintenance on pumps, motors, hydraulic systems, and related plant and facility equipment at various locations. The Mechanic I will utilize knowledge of various skilled trades and operate a variety of tools and equipment. Additionally, the role requires completing work orders and paperwork, assisting with inspections, and collaborating with other staff for maintenance and repair tasks. The Mechanic I will also perform other duties of a similar nature or level.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, or G.E.D.
• One year of general maintenance experience
• Must possess a valid driver’s license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Performing a variety of preventative and general maintenance and repair on plant and facility equipment and machines.
• Installing, maintaining, and repairing machines and equipment in plants and related facilities.
• Performing a variety of preventative maintenance on pumps, motors, hydraulic systems, and related plant and facility equipment within plant property and at remote facilities and locations.
• Performing a variety of maintenance requiring knowledge of plumbing, pipefitting, electronics, welding, small-engine repair, and other skilled trades.
• Operating a variety of tools and equipment in the maintenance and repair of machines and equipment.
• Completing work orders and paperwork regarding daily maintenance and repair duties.
• Assisting with inspecting the plant and related facilities for mechanical and equipment problems.
• Working with other plants and NBC staff in the maintenance and repair of plant and facility equipment, such as operators, electricians, process monitors, instrumentation technicians, and others as appropriate.
• Performing other duties of a similar nature or level.
