About The Position

The Mechanic I performs mechanical tasks including inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of all mechanical equipment to ensure optimal levels of safety and equipment productivity.

Requirements

  • Possess a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.
  • Proficient computer skills, including spreadsheet and word processing applications preferred.
  • Capable of working well with others and independently performing tasks.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, and brakes.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Attention to detail and precision in work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address mechanical issues effectively.
  • Commitment to safety protocols and practices.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
  • Must live or relocate to within 1 hour of the reporting location.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year of mechanical experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and inspects centrifugal pumps and electric motors, including bearing and seal replacements, alignments, couplings, sumps, fans, drain piping modifications, block valves, control valves, air compressors, valve actuators, etc.
  • Provides maintenance support for assigned assets such as natural gas processing plants, pipelines, and compressor stations. Assets typically include site structures, buildings, and industrial equipment specific to each asset’s functionality.
  • Performs preventative and predictive maintenance and repairs on facility-specific equipment.
  • Conducts condition monitoring using performance assessment software. Reviews diagnostics to understand current health of equipment.
  • Assists with equipment re-builds.
  • Supports asset’s air quality monitoring program by maintaining and repairing leaking equipment such as valves, compressors, pumps, and connectors.
  • Maintains complete, accurate, and regulatory-compliant documentation.
  • Broadens knowledge of facility-specific equipment through on-the-job training and industrial technology courses.
  • Capable of utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Maintains compressor logs, engine hours, diaries, oil sampling, and inventories of parts, equipment, lube oils, and coolants.
  • Performs general upkeep of facilities and equipment including pumps/compressors, company vehicle, and shop.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
