About The Position

The Mechanic Helper supports the maintenance team and senior mechanics. The role requires an aptitude for mechanical work and a foundational understanding of internal combustion engines, power transmission, electronics, and hydraulic systems. It is physically demanding and supports company operations through preventive maintenance, equipment upkeep, minor repairs, inspections, and related tasks.

Requirements

Aptitude for mechanical work.
Foundational understanding of internal combustion engines, power transmission, electronics, and hydraulic systems.
Ability to perform extended manual labor.
Ability to safely work at heights up to 50 feet, climb ladders, and work from elevated platforms while complying with fall-protection requirements.

Responsibilities

Perform routine preventive maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, oil sampling, greasing, and pressure washing equipment.
Clean radiators and filter housings with compressed air and operate air compressors.
Operate vehicles and mobile equipment, including fuel trucks, lube trucks, forklifts, pumps, and light towers, as well as power tools and hoists.
Complete inspection documentation, oil sample analysis, and maintenance reports.
Perform manual labor such as lifting, shoveling, stocking shelves, sweeping, and general upkeep of equipment and the work area.
Follow instructions, policies, and procedures.
Conduct minor equipment repairs, perform pre-start inspections, and check fluid levels to ensure equipment is safe and ready for operation.
Work safely at heights, including climbing ladders and working from elevated platforms at heights up to 50 feet, while following fall-protection requirements and using personal fall arrest systems when required.
Carry out additional duties as assigned.
