About The Position

Mechanic C repairs and maintains diesel and gasoline industrial and submersible pumps, represents the Company positively, and maintains good relations with customers. The role involves performing basic inspections and engine services, greasing bearings, handling pump-related pipe fittings and equipment, inspecting and testing pumps, and completing required paperwork. The employee participates in the on-call rotation as needed and may perform other assigned duties. The position requires a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, and a customer-service-oriented, safety-conscious approach.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of mechanic experience.
• Ability to use a calculator, cellular telephone, and tape measure or ruler.
• Ability to read a map, plan routes, and calculate distances.
• Motivated, a team player, safety-oriented, and customer-service-oriented.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting and moving items up to 100 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic inspections while learning Rain for Rent standard operating procedures.
• Perform engine services, including oil and filter changes and fuel-filter changes.
• Grease pump and wheel bearings properly.
• Operate portable cordless, electric, pneumatic, and stationary shop power tools safely.
• Apply knowledge of pipe fittings and flanges when fitting pumps for customers.
• Assemble and secure pipes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications.
• Receive, inspect, and stock products such as filters, pumps, hoses, and tools.
• Read, comprehend, and apply information from parts diagrams, owner’s manuals, and instruction manuals.
• Inspect, examine, and test pumps using appropriate specifications.
• Complete paperwork and electronic documents as required by management.
• Participate in the on-call rotation as needed.
• Represent the Company positively and maintain good relations with customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
