About The Position
The Mechanic Assistant helps the vehicle mechanic with university vehicle fueling, interior and exterior cleaning, snow clearing, repairs, and regular maintenance as assigned. The role also offers students an opportunity to develop automotive maintenance skills that can be useful throughout life. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, early mornings from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Federal Work Study students are encouraged to apply.
Requirements
- Have a minimum of three years of driving experience.
- Pass the University Safe Driving Certification program.
- Be willing to work early mornings on weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
Nice To Haves
- General familiarity with vehicle maintenance is helpful but not required.
Responsibilities
- Fuel university vehicles.
- Clean the interior and exterior of vehicles.
- Clear snow from vehicles.
- Assist the mechanic with various repairs and regular maintenance as assigned.
