About The Position

Delong Mountain Logistics is looking for a Mechanic Assistant. This position provides general labor support to the maintenance department. This is a unique opportunity that’s more than a job, it’s an adventure! DeLong Mountain Logistics provides logistics services for the Red Dog Mine, a world-class zinc mine located in Alaska, 100 miles north of the Arctic Circle. Our services include hauling ore concentrates, transporting freight, and fuel transport operations. DeLong Mountain Logistics is a partnership between NANA Regional Corporation and Lynden Logistics.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be able to work rotating shifts, days or nights as required.
Able to frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and occasionally move up to 100 pounds.
A valid driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one.
All Successful background checks and drug tests are mandatory for employment.
All candidates must have an acceptable past employment history and reference.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), preferred.
MSHA certification is preferred.
Hiring preference is given to (1) NANA shareholders (2) spouses or descendants of NANA shareholders.

Responsibilities

Wash and clean company vehicles, tractors and trailers and other equipment
Assist in receiving, inventorying and stocking parts
Assist mechanics as needed
Assist with paperwork and creating repair records
Operate company skid steer/pickups.
Maintain housekeeping in the shop and around shop areas
Complete all assigned tasks in a timely manner
Regular attendance and punctuality are essential
Adheres strictly to the Company’s safety policies.
