About The Position

The Pipefitter is responsible for the installation, modification, and repair of new and existing piping systems and associated equipment. This role involves working from drawings, blueprints, and sketches to meticulously plan and execute the routing, placement, pitch, elevation, pressure reduction, expansion, and overall operation of various piping systems and equipment. Key tasks include setting up system routes, creating and cutting route openings, installing hangers at precise pitch and elevation, and integrating components such as risers, branch outlets, expansion joints, pumps, gauges, and pressure regulators to ensure optimal system functionality. Additionally, the Pipefitter will install equipment by planning and completing the routing and placement of connecting systems, positioning equipment at correct elevations and points within the systems, and performing joining, sealing, and testing procedures to verify proper pressures, leak-free joints, and operational integrity.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 5 years additional education and/or related experience
  • Apprentice graduate/ Associate's Degree in relevant discipline and 3 years of related experience
  • May require certification

Responsibilities

  • Install, modify, and repair new and existing piping systems and equipment.
  • Work from drawings, blueprints, and sketches to plan and lay out the routing, placement, pitch, elevation, pressure reduction, expansion, and operation of various piping systems and equipment.
  • Install, modify, and repair systems by setting up system routes, placing and cutting route openings, installing hangers at proper pitch and elevation.
  • Determine and install risers, branch outlets, expansion joints, pumps, gauges, and pressure regulators in the combination needed to ensure the proper operation of the systems.
  • Install equipment by planning and completing the routing and placement of systems leading to the equipment.
  • Determine and place the equipment at the proper elevations and points in the systems.
  • Join, seal, and test systems and equipment for proper pressures, leak-free joints, and operation.
