About The Position

The Meat Service Clerk works in the meat department at Jerry's Foods Hudson and reports to the Meat and Seafood Manager. This part-time, union position involves varied hours Sunday through Saturday. The pay follows a progressive scale up to $16.50 per hour, based on experience. The clerk serves customers, fills and rotates cases and displays, assists with merchandising and receiving products, and helps keep the store clean and sanitary. The role also supports the team with department tasks. Work and physical requirements may vary by store location. Frequent physical demands include lifting and carrying up to 100 pounds and pushing over 2,200 force pounds, along with walking, reaching, standing, stooping, bending, squatting, and turning. The work includes exposure to cold temperatures and wet surfaces. Equipment may include meat-processing tools, a telephone, and a paging system; occasional equipment operation includes a forklift, pallet jack, and flatbed.

Requirements

Willingness to work varied hours Sunday through Saturday.
Ability to perform the position's physical tasks, including lifting and carrying up to 100 pounds and pushing over 2,200 force pounds.
Ability to perform frequent walking, reaching, standing, stooping, bending, squatting, and turning.
Ability to work in cold temperatures and on wet surfaces.
Judgment and decision-making, social and verbal communication skills, memorization, reading, writing, and math skills.
