About The Position

The Meat/Seafood Clerk works in the meat and seafood department at Kj’s Market, serving guests and preparing, stocking, and maintaining products for sale. The role involves customer interaction, product handling, inventory support, and maintaining department safety, sanitation, quality, and freshness standards. This is a part-time position.

Requirements

Good interpersonal skills, effective selling skills, and an outgoing personality.
Ability to work well with others and to sell and interact with guests.
Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds constantly.
Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
Ability to work in a cold environment.
Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

Greet and interact politely and pleasantly with guests approaching the department, creating a selling environment using selling skills.
Prepare knife-ready products for sale by slicing, trimming, wrapping, weighing, and pricing them according to Floco Foods standards.
Assist with product receiving, inventory, and storage.
Price, stock, and rotate frozen items, prepared meats, and fresh meat and seafood in sales areas.
Maintain safety and sanitation standards in areas that come into contact with meat and seafood, including prep areas, coolers, freezers, and the sales floor.
Maintain product quality and freshness and ensure products available for sale are in date.
Communicate shrink issues to management.
Communicate guest requests and concerns to management.
Make public-address announcements for meat and seafood department sale and promotional items.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
