About The Position

The Meat Cutter manages, cuts, and trims meat and seafood according to The Fresh Market’s standards and guest requests. The role also assists with department inventory, pricing integrity, merchandising, and other detail-oriented operational processes. This is a fast-paced position requiring efficiency, effectiveness, and a passion for excellence in creating a positive experience for guests and team members.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience cutting meat.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.
• Must complete certification through The Fresh Market’s internal training platform within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of products and weekly ad items throughout the store, and work across departments to help guests find products and complete meal solutions.
• Handle, slice, cut, and trim a variety of prime and premium meat and seafood products, including items for convenient meal solutions.
• Manage quality product levels in accordance with The Fresh Market standards.
• Monitor temperatures of cases, spillovers, and storage areas.
• Follow department practices for receiving, stocking, and unloading deliveries to ensure product freshness and quality across cases, coolers, freezers, and the sales floor.
• Ensure the department follows safety requirements and protocols, including food safety policies and applicable laws.
• Assist with department inventory, pricing integrity, merchandising, and other operational processes.
