About The Position

This role works independently to prepare, package, display, and stock meat products while contributing to the financial best interest of the store. The associate is responsible for meeting company guidelines for guest experience, safety, and food safety. The position may also include assignments in other departments based on customer experience needs, and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed. The role is based at 444 Ada Drive, Ada, Michigan 49301. The work environment is a typical retail store with varied temperatures and exposure to outside weather conditions. Noise is usually low to moderate. Travel requirements vary by assignment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
One year of retail or related experience preferred.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

Prepare and produce meat products according to the Production Planner.
Package and label meat products according to the program plan.
Merchandise meat products according to the flight plan and merchandising expectations.
Stock the backroom with meat products, rotating and dating cases and buckets.
Notify the Meat Manager when products and supplies need to be ordered.
Work with other departments and stores to support growth in SpartanNash retail stores.
Communicate tasks, recipes, weights and measures, and completed cleaning steps to other associates.
Follow all PPE and safety guidelines.
Follow all food safety and cleaning expectations.
Follow guest experience guidelines.
Perform tasks in other departments as assigned based on customer experience needs.
Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
