About The Position

Perficient is hiring an MDM Engineer - Customer to join its Data & Analytics team in the United States. The role is primarily office-based at a local Perficient location, with travel and on-site client engagements as needed. Candidates must be within commuting distance of an office in Chicago, Detroit, Houston, Austin, Dallas, Charlotte, or Atlanta. Travel may be up to 25%, sometimes more depending on program needs, and may be requested on short notice. The posting describes a Solutions Architect role focused on delivering architectural solutions across Data & Analytics. The position leads client pursuits and complex engagements, develops future-state architectures and implementation roadmaps, and helps clients address business needs through data platforms and related technologies. It also contributes to presales, thought leadership, mentorship, architecture, design, configuration, testing, debugging, and documentation. The successful candidate will collaborate with global teams and clients across industries, communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and use AI tools to support productivity and data-informed work. Perficient’s Data & Analytics team supports clients across the data lifecycle, including curation, ingestion, management, analytics, and reporting. The practice includes AI, Data Management, Content, and Data Strategy, and works on modern data platforms, machine learning, and generative AI solutions.

Requirements

At least 10 years of relevant professional experience.
Strong experience with data trends and technologies, including Data Quality, Data Catalog, Data Lineage, and Master Data Management.
Familiarity with data governance concepts, including policies, procedures, operating models, and runbooks.
Expertise building solutions from scratch and modernizing legacy architectures.
Strong data-modeling experience across various industries.
Expertise in at least two hyperscaler technologies: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Familiarity with cloud-based data warehouse and/or lakehouse platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks.
Ability to communicate complex solutions to technical and non-technical users at different levels, typically from department directors to C-suite.
Experience with both on-premises and cloud technologies and platforms.
Expertise architecting solutions across disciplines including performance, scalability, and security.
Clear, effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to create strong presentations using various tools.
Knowledge of emerging AI tools, technologies, and industry trends.
Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to improve productivity, streamline workflows, and support data-informed task execution.
A solid understanding of AI capabilities and limitations, including ethical considerations.
Ability to travel up to 25%, potentially more depending on program needs and sometimes on short notice.
Must be within commuting distance of a Perficient office in Chicago, Detroit, Houston, Austin, Dallas, Charlotte, or Atlanta.

Responsibilities

Lead client pursuit teams as a Data subject matter expert, including RFP responses and proactive proposals.
Work with multiple business units within Perficient.
Lead complex client engagement delivery, often with ambiguity and little direction.
Plan and lead client workshops to understand the current landscape, requirements, and constraints, and map them to current technology products and platforms to define future architecture.
Create phased implementation roadmaps based on scope and resources.
Explain complex architectures to technical and non-technical client teams and build consensus among stakeholders.
Learn new technologies and platforms quickly and keep experience relevant to client needs.
Lead globally located teams working across multiple time zones.
Represent Perficient as an enterprise architecture authority at industry forums and conferences.
Take ownership of solutions and teams.
Provide best-fit architectural solutions for projects, help define scope and work estimates, and anchor proof-of-concept development.
Provide solution architecture for business problems, integrate platforms with third-party services, and design and develop complex features for client business needs.
Participate in sales and other pursuits focused on client business needs.
Contribute to thought leadership, mentorship, systems analysis, architecture, design, configuration, testing, debugging, and documentation.
