About The Position

Kaplan is hiring MCAT test preparation instructors for its regional teaching team in the Boston metro area. Instructors travel to different locations across the area, which may include Harvard, Boston University, and nearby communities, to teach in-person MCAT preparation classes. The role offers the opportunity to help students prepare for medical school admissions and develop their critical-thinking skills across the sciences.

Instructors teach from Kaplan’s existing curriculum and receive paid training, preparation time, coaching, and ongoing professional development to strengthen their teaching, presentation, and mentoring skills. Training and class preparation can be completed remotely from home, and instructors connect with colleagues remotely. The schedule is flexible and part-time. Additional part-time opportunities may be available depending on business needs and satisfaction of certain requirements. Regional travel is required; locations and dates depend on business needs and availability. The position is based in the Boston metro area, with Cambridge, Massachusetts listed as the location.

Requirements

• Score above 515 on the MCAT.
• Be authorized to work in the United States.
• Work independently with a remote manager.
• Have a passion for helping others achieve their goals.
• Respond to quickly changing needs with agility and flexibility.
• Be available for required travel; locations and dates are determined by business needs and availability.

Responsibilities

• Teach in-person MCAT preparation sessions at regional locations.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver MCAT preparation or other educational content tailored to student needs.
• Use Kaplan’s curriculum and teaching methods to prepare students for the MCAT.
• Support students in and outside class as they develop critical-thinking skills and solve problems across the sciences.
• Participate in professional training, coaching, and development.
• Travel to assigned teaching locations based on business needs and availability.
