About The Position

Kaplan is hiring MCAT test preparation instructors for its regional teaching team in the New York Metro area. Instructors travel to different locations across the area, which may include Manhattan, Stony Brook, and Queens, to teach in-person MCAT preparation classes. The role offers the opportunity to help students prepare for medical school admissions and develop their teaching, presenting, and mentoring skills. Instructors teach from a pre-existing curriculum and receive paid training and ongoing professional development. Training and class preparation may be completed remotely from home. The position has a flexible, part-time teaching schedule, with potential for additional part-time employment opportunities based on business needs and specified requirements.

Requirements

• Score above 515 on the MCAT.
• Be authorized to work in the United States.
• Be able to work independently with a remote manager.
• Have a passion for helping others achieve their goals.
• Respond to changing needs with agility and flexibility.
• Be available to travel; lead time, locations, and dates are determined by business needs and availability.

Responsibilities

• Teach in-person MCAT preparation sessions at regional locations.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver MCAT preparation and/or other educational content tailored to student needs.
• Prepare students for the MCAT using teaching methods and a curated curriculum.
• Support students in and out of class, helping them use critical thinking to solve problems across the sciences.
• Participate in professional training, coaching, and development.
• Travel to teaching locations as determined by business needs and availability.
• Complete training and class preparation remotely.
