About The Position
Kaplan is hiring MCAT test-preparation instructors for its regional teaching team based in Atlanta. The instructor travels to locations throughout the area to teach in-person MCAT preparation classes; locations may include Emory, Georgia Tech, Duke, and the University of North Carolina. The role is an opportunity to help students prepare for the medical school admissions test. Instructors teach from an established curriculum and receive paid training, preparation time, and ongoing professional development in teaching, presenting, and mentoring. The position has a flexible, part-time teaching schedule. Training and class preparation can be completed from home, with colleagues connected remotely. Additional part-time employment opportunities may be available based on business needs and satisfaction of certain requirements.
Requirements
- Score above 515 on the MCAT.
- Be authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to work independently with a remote manager.
- Passion for helping others achieve their goals.
- Ability to respond to changing needs with agility and flexibility.
- Availability for required travel; lead time, locations, and dates are determined by business needs and availability.
Responsibilities
- Teach in-person MCAT preparation sessions at regional locations.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver MCAT preparation or other educational content tailored to student needs.
- Prepare students for the MCAT using teaching methods and a curated curriculum.
- Support students in and out of class and help them use critical thinking to solve problems across the sciences.
- Participate in ongoing professional training, coaching, and development.
- Travel to teaching locations as determined by business needs and availability.
