The 2027 MBA Summer Intern – Account Manager, US positions are located in Newport Beach, CA, Austin, Texas, or New York, NY. The client management team consists of relationship management and sales professionals responsible for client relationship management and business development. Account Managers represent PIMCO to clients and prospective clients, delivering investment solutions that leverage PIMCO's expertise in fixed income. They are investment professionals with broad responsibilities including building and maintaining client relationships, educating clients on investment strategies, understanding client objectives, and collaborating with other PIMCO professionals to present tailored solutions. They also communicate the benefits of PIMCO's offerings, provide performance and market insights, identify new business opportunities, and develop strategies to grow assets under management and improve profitability. Account Managers can specialize in various client types such as endowments, foundations, pension funds, and government entities. The internship offers opportunities within Client Management and Global Wealth Management business groups, providing hands-on experience supporting client relationships and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Pursuing an MBA degree with an emphasis in Finance and Economics or a related, quantitative/analytical field from an accredited, leading business school or university, or other equivalent Advanced Degree as it relates to the position.
  • Must be able to begin full time employment from a PIMCO office between January 2028 – August 2028
  • Must be enrolled at a university during the Fall 2027 semester (August 2027 – December 2027)
  • Are business proficient in English

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships across client organizations
  • Educate clients about a broad set of investment strategies
  • Develop a deep understanding of clients’ investment objectives, risk tolerance and organizational structure, and industry trends towards presenting compelling tailored investment solutions
  • Collaborate with other PIMCO investment professionals, including Product Strategists and Portfolio Managers regarding PIMCO's product offerings and capabilities
  • Effectively communicate the benefits and features of PIMCO's investment solutions in the context of client investment objectives
  • Provide information about performance attribution, market performance and macroeconomic conditions, as well as outline the firm’s current economic outlook and portfolio strategy
  • Identify new business opportunities within existing clients and prospective clients; develop and execute strategies to grow PIMCO's assets under management (AUM) and improve firm profitability
