Duke Energy is seeking first-year Master of Business Administration students with an interest in the energy sector for a temporary internship assignment during Summer 2027. Interns will work on special projects and collaborate with teams inside and outside Duke Energy. The main responsibility is to support projects and teams associated with the assigned business unit. Interns will contribute to Duke Energy’s clean energy transition strategy through meaningful project work that produces decision-oriented results, while gaining exposure to groups and initiatives across the company. Potential Summer 2027 assignments include regulated renewables development, energy storage development, project management and construction, finance, natural gas, distributed energy, and the Emerging Technology Office. Work may include utility-scale renewable and storage project development, project controls and analytics, financial planning and analysis, natural gas development, distributed energy resources, or adoption of emerging technologies. The internship is based in Charlotte or Raleigh, North Carolina, with potential opportunities at locations across Duke Energy’s footprint. After onboarding, work is hybrid, performed remotely and onsite; hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute of a designated Duke Energy facility. The assignment requires full-time availability Monday through Friday for 10–13 weeks during Summer 2027. Applicants must submit a current transcript and resume through Duke Energy’s careers page. Employment-based visa sponsorship is not provided.
