About The Position

NextGen Growth Partners (NGP) is a Chicago-based private equity firm that partners founders and business owners with leaders to acquire and scale essential service businesses. The firm’s talent-first model pairs CEOs-in-Residence (CIRs) with a proven process and dedicated support. NGP is guided by the values of Relationships, Rigor, and Results. MBA interns interested in Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition work alongside an assigned CEO-in-Residence on prospective and current investment opportunities, serving as an extension of that CIR. Interns conduct research and diligence, and may observe or assist with steps such as developing IOIs and LOIs and pre-close due diligence. The program also includes required readings, case studies, and virtual interactive Case Study Sessions led by members of NGP’s full-time team, with access to NGP’s network. This is an unpaid, part-time internship requiring 15–20 hours per week for 10 weeks, from January 11 through March 19, 2027. The role is remote, with the office available to interns local to Chicago.
