About The Position
Performs a combination of manual and clerical shipping and/or receiving duties. The work may require using hand trucks, forklifts, other devices, and computers to maintain data. Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment; verifies quantities, weights, and material conformance; prepares shipping records and bills of lading; and routes materials to destinations. May lay out, fabricate, and assemble nonstandard shipping crates and boxes, and prepare parts and tooling for special shipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two years of additional education and/or experience.
Responsibilities
- Receive incoming materials or prepare materials for shipment.
- Verify material quantities, weights, and conformance.
- Prepare records of materials shipped and bills of lading.
- Route materials to their destinations.
- May lay out, fabricate, and assemble nonstandard shipping crates and boxes.

- Use computers to maintain data and may use hand trucks, forklifts, and other devices.
