About The Position

Performs a combination of manual and clerical shipping and/or receiving duties. The role may require use of hand trucks, forklifts, other devices, and computers to maintain data. Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment; verifies material quantity, weight, and conformance; prepares shipping records and bills of lading; and routes materials to destinations. May lay out, fabricate, and assemble nonstandard shipping crates and boxes, and prepare parts and tooling for special shipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of additional education and/or experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual and clerical shipping and/or receiving duties.
• Receive incoming materials or prepare materials for shipment.
• Verify the quantity, weight, and conformance of materials.
• Prepare records of materials shipped and bills of lading.
• Route materials to their destinations.
• As needed, lay out, fabricate, and assemble nonstandard shipping crates and boxes.
• As needed, prepare parts and tooling for special shipment.
• Use computers to maintain data.
