About The Position

To provide small group, in-class and out-of-class instruction in Mathematics. This is a 1-year only position.

Completed at least two years of study at an institute of higher education, obtained at least an associate degree or meet a rigorous standard of quality and be able to demonstrate knowledge of, and ability to assist in Mathematics instruction.

Experience teaching Mathematics at K-6 levels per the Massachusetts Frameworks preferred.
Knowledge of Google classroom, Google meet, and iReady helpful.
Understanding of or experience using Bridges program and math manipulatives helpful.
Understanding of or experience using rubrics and standards-based units of instruction preferred.

Working with the classroom teacher and math specialist to provide rigorous, small group mathematics strategies, and skills instruction in-class and out-of-class.
Administer and document formal, informal and progress monitoring assessments.
Meet routinely with the math specialist and Intervention team using data to discuss students’ progress and needs.
Responsible for creating and updating RTI plans and reports.
Attend and actively engage in all professional development, data analysis, planning, and parent meetings.
Willingness to become involved in the academic and social aspects of school life to support student success, school spirit, and school climate and culture.
Engage in a continuous cycle of feedback and improvement regarding instruction, planning, and classroom culture.
Evaluate and recommend materials and programs beneficial for the intervention program.
Incorporates technology when appropriate in tutoring sessions.
Adheres to the adopted policies of the Bellingham School Committee.
Foster a positive relationship with students, staff, and family.
Other duties as assigned by the Principal.
