About The Position

As a Math Tutor at Braintrust Tutors, you will work with students to strengthen their mathematical reasoning, number sense, and problem-solving strategies. You will provide engaging, consistent lessons using Braintrust Tutors' curriculum and materials, helping students build foundational math skills and confidence. As an in-person tutor, our priority will be to match you with those engagements. However, you may be considered for additional online roles if you would like to complete your schedule with us. Seeking dedicated Math educators for in-person support within Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
• Active/expired teaching license or at least 5 years of experience working with K-8 students in an educational environment
• Knowledge of math instruction that builds number sense, procedural fluency, and problem-solving skills, with a scope and sequence ranging from counting to multi-digit arithmetic, including decimals and fractions. You also need expertise in foundational math operations, algebraic problem-solving and geometry
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Comfort collaborating with teachers and staff
• Punctuality, professionalism, and reliability for all scheduled sessions
• Reliable transportation and/or appropriate technology for instruction
• Passion for literacy and closing opportunity gaps
• Must be available for the entire schedule (Sept 8th - December 13th)

Responsibilities

• Provide small-group or 1:1 math tutoring pre-algebra and algebra
• Implement Braintrust Tutors' intervention programs as designed, using all materials with fidelity
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic performance
• Collaborate with the Braintrust Tutors Operations team and school staff to support student growth
• Foster a supportive and engaging classroom environment that promotes focus and confidence
• Follow school-site procedures and policies while maintaining a professional and dependable presence
• Use the provided assessments and progress monitoring tools for understanding to guide instruction
• Manage time effectively during sessions to complete all planned instructional activities
