Math Corps is hiring Math Tutors to help elementary students strengthen their math skills and confidence at a local school. Tutors receive training and ongoing coaching to deliver proven activities. On each school day, tutors work with groups of up to three students for 20–30 minutes at a time, helping students return to their classrooms between sessions and following a schedule until all assigned students have been served. The position is for the 2026–27 school year, running January 2027 through June 2027. The full-time schedule is 35 hours per week, with fewer hours during weeks that include holidays or school release days. Hours are during the daytime and correspond with school start and end times, Monday through Friday. Part-time positions of 25 hours per week are also available. AmeriCorps members have a total service-hour commitment for the program year; most hours are completed through regular site-based service, and members may occasionally complete approved service or training outside the school day as needed. Full-time AmeriCorps members receive a stipend every two weeks at $14.67 per hour served. Benefits include individual health insurance with the monthly premium fully covered, child care assistance based on family size and income, a member assistance program, education benefits, federal student loan forbearance and interest repayment, and time accrual toward Public Service Loan Forgiveness. The education award is up to $2,817.14 for college tuition or student loans; tutors aged 55 or older may transfer the award to a qualified family member.
