About The Position

Math Corps is hiring Math Tutors to serve students in local schools during the 2026–27 school year. Tutors help K–3 students improve their math skills using proven activities; training and ongoing coaching are provided. On each school day, tutors work with groups of up to three students for 20–30 minutes at a time, then help students return to their classrooms and begin tutoring the next group. Tutors encourage students as they build math skills and confidence. The position runs from August 2026 through June 2027. Full-time members serve 35 hours per week, with fewer hours during weeks that include holidays or school release days. Work takes place during daytime hours corresponding to school schedules, Monday through Friday. Part-time options are also available at 25 or 15 hours per week. AmeriCorps members have a total service-hour commitment for the program year; most service is completed at the school site, and members may occasionally complete approved service or training outside the school day as needed. Math Corps is powered by AmeriCorps members and administered by Ampact, a nonprofit organization. The program is fueled by research from ServeMinnesota’s National Science + Service Collaborative. Ampact prohibits discrimination and harassment based on protected characteristics and provides reasonable accommodation upon request.
