About The Position

Math Corps is hiring a Math Tutor to work at a local school and help students in grades K–3 improve their math skills. Tutors receive training and ongoing coaching to deliver proven activities. On each school day, tutors work with groups of up to three students for 20–30 minutes, following a schedule until all assigned students have been served. Tutors encourage students as they build their skills and confidence. The position is for the 2026–27 school year, running from August 2026 through June 2027. Full-time positions are 35 hours per week, with fewer hours during weeks with holidays or school release days; part-time positions of 25 hours per week are also available. Work is during daytime school hours, Monday through Friday, with holidays and school release days off.

Requirements

• Dependable, with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills, such as using email and navigating online.
• Fluent in spoken and written English, including reading.
• At least 18 years old by the time service begins.
• High school diploma or equivalent by the time service begins.
• A U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
• Able to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide caring support focused on helping children thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores in data software.
• Participate in coaching and training to support personal growth.
• Share tutoring experience with the community.
