About The Position

Math Corps is hiring tutors to work at local schools and help students in kindergarten through third grade improve their math skills. Tutors receive training in proven activities and ongoing coaching. Each school day, tutors work with groups of up to three students for 20–30 minutes of math practice, then help them return to their classrooms and bring in the next group. Tutors encourage students as they build skills and confidence. Positions are available for the 2026–27 school year and run from January 2027 through June 2027. Full-time positions are 35 hours per week, with fewer hours during weeks with holidays or school release days. Hours are during the daytime and correspond with school start and end times, Monday through Friday. Part-time positions are also available at 15 or 25 hours per week. Full-time AmeriCorps members receive a stipend of $19 per hour served, paid every two weeks, and additional benefits. The role is part of Math Corps, an AmeriCorps tutoring program administered by the nonprofit Ampact.
