About The Position
At Mathnasium of Wauconda, we’re passionate about both our students and our employees! We set ourselves apart by providing Math Tutors with a rewarding opportunity to transform the lives of Kindergarten-12th grade students, consistent, but flexible part-time hours Monday-Thursday 3:00-7:00pm & Sunday 1-4pm, an engaging and supportive work environment, opportunities for advancement after the first 30 days, paid training, and all necessary curriculum and instructional tools.
Requirements
- Passion for math and helping others
- Ability to work on a team
- Eagerness to learn
- Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra I
- Ability to balance various ongoing tasks
- Available a minimum of 8 hours per week during instruction hours
- 16 years or older
- Availability year round (Please note: This is not a summer only position. All applicants must be available during the school year as well)
- All applicants will be required to take a math literacy test to demonstrate math proficiency, provide work authorization, and pass a background check.
Responsibilities
- Teach/tutor in-center using the Mathnasium Method™, terminology, and teaching practices as learned during training
- Work collaboratively with team members to deliver individualized instruction in a group setting
- Assess students’ understanding and engagement throughout instructional sessions
- Become proficient with various daily processes
