This position involves teaching mathematics content and other appropriate learning activities to students in a classroom setting, utilizing the curriculum adopted by the Board of Education. The role also includes additional assignment as the Head Girls Soccer Coach. The teacher will implement a variety of effective instructional strategies, instruct students in citizenship and basic communication skills, and adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of each student. Responsibilities include assessing student performance, maintaining a respectful classroom atmosphere, evaluating student growth, and communicating with parents. The teacher will also identify students' needs, cooperate with other staff, and create a conducive learning environment. Duties include attending meetings, taking precautions to protect students and property, maintaining accurate records, and participating in professional development. The role also involves administering mandated assessments, participating in curriculum development, supervising students during various activities, and maintaining regular attendance. The position requires the ability to maintain positive professional working relationships and emotional control under stress, and to abide by state statutes and district policies. Adult Education teaching positions are contingent upon funding and may have flexible working hours, including day and/or evening shifts, and assignments at various sites. The position may require lifting at least 40 pounds occasionally and enduring prolonged standing, walking, sitting, occasional reaching, bending, squatting, and kneeling. Teachers may be asked to teach at various locations.
